Ps Simon Eng
Genesis 39:1-7
Joseph accomplished his fullest potential in life through God.
God has a plan for all of us. We have a significant purpose for our lives, ordained by God, so...
How to get to God's destination?
Firstly, We are in a preparation stage. The process of preparation has to be full, for us to fulfill our fullest potential for God.
1) Wholeheartedness towards God.
We can see that though Joseph went through many difficult circumstances, even so Joseph never gave up on God. His heart was never disappointed to God, he learnt to trust God completely.
What causes me to last to the end of the race, is the preparation of my heart.
Throughout all of his circumstances, through the entire race, his heart remained loyal to God.
*Key note* God's favour is with those who walk right with him.
a) He was righteous in what he possessed. Joseph did not steal from his master. Do we steal from others? Their time, energy, possessions? (Do we steal office supplies..) Don't take shortcuts in your job.
b) Dont engage in immoral activities. Keep your moral life intact before God.
There is spiritual warfare involved even in the seemingly harmless things we do. It is a vicious cycle, don't let the devil have a foothold.
*Key note* God favours the righteous. God's strength and annointing is with the righteous. God can restore our hearts, but we will bear the consequences. We reap what we sow, so don't sow the seeds of destruction.
c) Responsibilities given to me.
We must be faithful and trustworthy on everything that we handle.
Responsibility entrusted to you unveils our faithfulness or unfaithfulness.

God was with Joseph in all that he did, because Joseph's walk was right with God.
App point:
Be wholehearted towards God.
2) Righteous living
Joseph chose righteousness as a servant, as a prisoner, as a second in command in all the kingdom.

Do I choose righteousness in all that I do?
a) He was righteous in what he possessed. Joseph did not steal from his master. Do we steal from others? Their time, energy, possessions? (Do we steal office supplies..) Don't take shortcuts in your job.

We must be faithful and trustworthy on everything that we handle.
Responsibility entrusted to you unveils our faithfulness or unfaithfulness.
The smallness of the task, unveils the bigness of our hearts.
Jesus says he who is faithful with the little, will be faithful with the much.
Honesty and integrity is proven when no one is watching.
3) Perseverance

3) Perseverance
Even as Joseph persevered through the many seasons of his life, he came out of them with a stronger faith and character.
Perseverance is the internal self-discipline of never giving up. Without self-discipline we'll never reach our goal. Go through each season, and come out stronger.
