Liyin Proclaims:
The following is adapted from the writing in my journal..?
Actually when I read the verse, I didn't really get it, so I decided to read on to see what was happening throughout the whole passage.. Right after God said, "I the Lord do not change" He went on to say "So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed." Because God doesn't change, His love for His people never changes and He keeps His promises to them. Because always and always, God still loves them. And His promise to them in v7 holds true for them as well, despite their great sin: "Return to me and I will return to you." God's love for us doesn't change, the fact that He cares for us doesn't change, His providence doesn't change. And God reminded me that because of His unchanging nature, people like to take advantage of Him. Not that we can take advantage of God, but as humans sometimes we do try. In v8: "Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me." But you ask, 'How do we rob you?' "In tithes and offerings." What I wrote: Lord, help me not to take advantage of Your unchanging nature. Help me not to rob You by not giving You all that I have and all that I am.

And another thing. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is the Alpha and the Omega, who is, who was, and who is to come, the Almighty. Revelation 1:8. God is still as hard on sin as He was before. God is still righteous and holy. And was reminded that because He doesn't change, because He is eternal, because His Word stands firm forever, we need to fear God. Because He is God and He does not change. in addition to fearing God because of His unchanging nature, God reminded me that we need to also take comfort in His unchanging nature. Isaiah 26:3-4 - You will keep in perfect peace he whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal. =) And in Deuteronomy 33:27 - The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemy before you, saying, "Destroy him!" And in Psalm 90:2 - Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. =) Yeah.. We need to fear God, respect Him and obey Him. And also to love Him, be real with Him, trust Him and walk with Him all the days of our life. Stand in awe of God. Give our best to Him. And remember that He is forever holding our hand. And yeah thank God that He doesn't change!! Cos to put it bluntly, the world can kiss itself goodbye if He does. XP

Prayer:
That this truth (that God doesn't change) will be so evident in my life. That i'll experience God's unchanging nature throughout my life and be constantly reminded of it. Experience how His unchanging nature affects the way i live?

Liyi Proclaims:
This verse reminded me of the verse in Hebrews 13:8 ' Jesus Christ is the SAME yesterday and today and forever'. Even if we turn away and return to God, He is still the SAME. Knowing that my God is unchanging, humbles me and this song 'From the Inside Out' came to my mind.

A thousand times i fail, still your mercy remains
And i should stumble again, still i'm caught in your grace
Everlasting your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending your glory goes beyond all fame

1st 2 lines really expresses how i feel towards God's unchanging nature

Ning Proclaims:
God is forever the same.
though in the world, the most constant thing is change.
only God stays the same.
today, tomorrow and forever.
His mercies and grace never fails.
i am suddenly reminded of a song.

DESERT SONG
This is my prayer in the desert
When all that’s within me feels dry
This is my prayer in my hunger and need
My God is the God who provides

This is my prayer in the fire
In weakness or trial or pain
There is a faith proved
Of more worth than gold
So refine me Lord through the flame

CHORUS:
I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon formed against me shall remain
I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here

This is my prayer in the battle
When triumph is still on its way
I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ
So firm on His promise I’ll stand

BRIDGE:
All of my life
In every season
You are still God
I have a reason to sing
I have a reason to worship

This is my prayer in the harvest
When favour and providence flow
I know I’m filled to be emptied again
The seed I’ve received I will sow

this song really touches me every single time.
esp the last part which says, IN EVERY SEASON YOU ARE STILL GOD.
in my sad times,in my happy times,in my i-really-want-to-give-up times.
God hears me and He delivers me thru it.
it makes me have increased faith in Him.

Thank God that in every season, He is still God and He is the one who provides.
im glad i serve a perfect God:)
what abt you?

Jesline Proclaims:
The passage reminds me of God's trustworthiness. His will, his purpose, his promises, his nature do not change regardless of who we are and how we have been. Reading this reminds me of the times when i have failed myself or people around me.This is a very terrible feeling of disappointment and condemnation, however i thank God that he is not like me. I can fully trust in him and his word. God's trustworthiness gives me courage to face my past and future.

Prayer:
Today i ask God to release me from my past-the disappointments of my own failure, allow God to heal the hurts that i hardly want to face and the courage to move on towards my future.

Elaine Proclaims:
Our God is an unchanging God. We should put our trust in him because he is the same yesterday, today and forever. His love for us endures forever but we should not take it for granted.
Prayer: To walk closely to him and know more of God's character.

Mich Proclaims:
From this passage it reminds me of past experiences.People do really fail us but God dun! humans are imperfect and cannot be compared to God. This reminds me of a verse saying Jesus Christ is the same today, yesterday and tomorrow, God indeed do not change He's always e same. N bcoz of this, we r not destroyed easily, for He does not help us according to His mood, if He does, we wud b defeated by e devil. Yea. So i wanna pray tt I'll keep this in mind, as in God do not chng, n rmb tt we r not easily defeat for our victory is in God alr.

Sharon Proclaims:

What i have learnt is that:
-If God had changed His purpose, the sons of Jacob would have been consumed, However, because God has a purpose that He has been working out from the beginning, He looked beyond what these people were doing (to destory and remove themselves from His purpose.)
By saying "I do not change" He has never altered His purpose from the beginning.
In our own lives many times we fail to live out a life pleasing to God but one thing sure is it Doesn't change His love for us!
Many times there are vaild reasons for Him to not bless us due to our crooked ways but God is a man of His words! SO MUST WE!

Han Proclaims:
The descendants of Jacob then, did not recognise God's ever present mercy towards them, and questions God. And this verse was where God reaffirms His unchanging love for them. In the same way, God in our lives has always been faithful, and in certain ways, sometimes we turn a blind eye to His presence in our lives. When in all times, we are the ones who change, never God. God's purpose for us remains the same, in times when we lose our way, make the choice to go back to His path. I pray to constantly remember my first love with God, with the assurance that God's hand and will is in my life, no matter the circumstance.
