Shuning

As we confess our sins, mean it with all our hearts and allow God to work in our lives. Let God take away whatever is not pleasing to Him. Do this so He can be glorifed.

Liyi

Isaiah knew the serious consequences of sins so he sees the need to quickly repent. It's like many a timei can ask God for forgiveness but soon I'll commit the same sin again unless God makes me a broken man. It's experiencing such pain/hurt then i fully repent before Him. Likewise God uses anyone and everyone to do his work but we got to check our own motives. They have to be pure and right.

Prayer:
not to have selfish motives but to have clean hands and prue hearts as i serve God

Elaine

Isaiah acknowledged himself as a sinner and allow God to take over his life. He received God's forgiveness and is able to proclaim his identity in God. His attitude may seem easy but in real life, it takes alot of courage to be like Him

Prayer:
to allow God to work through me and acknowledge that God is in control

Sharon

Isaiah's view of God in 6:1-4 gives us a sense of God's greatness! He recognised his sinfulness(v5) before God encourages us to confess ours too, his picture of forgiveness(v7) that we too are forgiven and we should be convicted that we are! And stop living a life of condemnation! When we recognise and understand how great God is, vs our sinful being leading to his unconditional forgiveness for us it should drive us even more to love him and fulfill his commands!

This passage reminded me of the need to identify my sins like Isaiah did. N also to really take it seriously.Once we confess our sins to God, have the heart attitude to really wanna change and turn away from those sins again. I believe when we really die to our sins and are convicted of God's grace upon us, He will use us greatly when we ask Him to use us, just like Isaiah.

Prayer:
wanna pray for God's guidance in my life, to stay close to the holy spirit. N also not be so afraid to be used by God

Jesline

From this passage, God spoke to me about 2 things.

1) A new life in Christ- if Isaiah can respond by confessing his sins to God and trust in God's graciousness upon his sinfulness. What more us, when we have seen/heard the message of the Gospel-which should give us greater confidence in confessing our sins to God and also believing in his purifying work in our lives.
I will want to learn from Isaiah, the way he looks at sin upon his life. He did not think sins are something small but rather he sees his own brokeness before God.

2)We are imperfect, we are sinners, we will stumble and fall again BUT God will still use us. However the key is the desire of having a pure life.

Prayer:
For myself to be broken for my sins. Ask God to open my eyes to my brokenness and the need for Him.

For the Holy Spirit to be upon me so that i can guard my life, my thoughts,
my emotions, my words, and desires. May God set Godly desires in my heart more

in v5: "...For I am a man of unclean lips," this shows Isaiah's acknowledgement of himself as a sinful man and also how holy and righteous God is. Isaiah stood in awe of God, and in His presence Isaiah was humbled and realized that he was unworthy. But then in v8 Isaiah was able to declare with conviction, "Here am I. Send me!" What caused the sudden change in perspective?

The Isaiah in v5 was humbled, broken and knew himself to be unworthy to serve God and stand in His presence. In v8, he was convicted, and he was able to declare confidently that "yeah, God, send ME!"

Because in v7, God cleansed Isaiah. He cleansed Isaiah from his sins, and in doing so sort of stamped His seal of approval upon Isaiah. Isaiah, humble, broken, unworthy. God cleansed him, stamped His approval on him. Then and only then was Isaiah able to declare with conviction. What this holds for myself, for all of us is that we need to remember that we're able to do what we're doing (serving God etc.)

because of God, not because of ourselves. We are all unworthy before Him. But because of what God has done, we are able to find our confidence and hope in Him and declare with all conviction, "Here I am, send me!" And another thing is that truly receiving God's forgiveness leads to action. As in, we would want to do our best for God because we're so thankful for what He has done for us. Yep. I think that's one of the reasons why Isaiah responded to God's call so willingly too. =) oh oh oh and.. in saying "Here I am, send me!", Isaiah didn't say go WHERE, send him where.

In saying so, Isaiah was willing to let God take control of his life. And he trusted that God would bring him to where He knew was best for him. Isaiah responded with a willing heart and total surrender, and that was all that was needed. it's like saying, "God, here I am, send me. To wherever You want me to go, to do whatever You want me to do. You are the One who sends, therefore I will trust in you." It's not so much about who is going, but more about who is SENDING. =)

Hanyun:
I forgot where i learnt this, so to confirm it, i researched abit, and indeed, the Seraphims represent the highest rank of angels in the Christian angelic hierarchy. And they are forever in God's presence and praising Him constantly. So for God to reveal his throne, his highest angels to Isaiah, how much must He treasure and love Isaiah! I think if i were Isaiah i might faint right there. Something that i really admire Isaiah is his readiness and instant willingness to respond to God. After repenting and after the assurance that his sins are atoned for, he immediately responded to God's call straightforwardly!

In our case, God has already gave us Jesus. We know that our sins are forgiven. But alot of times, I can get clouded by my fears and insecurities, and ask God MANY times, "God, are you suuuure?? Like reaaaaaally??", before readily stepping out to answer to God's call. Today is Day 3 of PNF! For the past 2 days, we have been repenting of our sins and recognising God's glory. Today is the day to answer, "here i am. send me." Even in the areas of our sins and struggles, let's claim this assurance and confidence in God!
