I really thank God for taking control this stressful period. BUT, of course we ourselves need to allow God take the wheel. By casting our mind on HIM, we do not let your thoughts scramble around like wild mice.

The another most common one is black with pale yellow.
It just emerges out from the chrysalis as you can see a small part of it's chrysalis on the right-hand corner of the picture. And yup, that's my sister's files.
Oh yes, we breed buttercups together.

a time when people queued outside the library early in the morning as if they are queuing to get hello kitties..
a time when people are visiting library more often..
a time when people finally open their textbook..
a time when people carry their heavy textbooks around..
a time when people chiong down the lecture room to "catch" their lecturers to ask questions..
a time when people start to burn midnight oil..
ya.. it's a time when exams are around the corner.
How's your revision up till now? 20%? 40%? 60%? 99.9%? Wherever you are, you are not alone. We are all doing this together. The SIM unit is doing this together regardless of which school you belong to! As we are mugging hard for our exams, we can also encourage our fellow brothers and sisters during this tense period.

During CG this week, we shared about our love languages.
**Note: Names can be repeated as one person may have two love languages**
Quality Time: HanYun, Sharon, BenTay, LiYi, Jesline, LiPing, Shawn, Justin, Elaine, Carrie, Maurise
Receiving Gifts: Jasmine, Maurise, HuiRu, ShuNing
Acts of Service: Jolene, JunYao, LiPing, Shawn, Carrie
Physical Touch: Kezia, Sharon, JunYao
Words of affirmation: Justin, HuiRu
So why not we just "target" a sis/bro every week and encourage them appropriately based on their love language?

37Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."
I was searching the web relating to this verse and saw this video that I wished to share to everyone here. This is a song by Leeland and the song is called Tears of the Saints. This video showed us the need to evangelise and help those who are in need and bring back the fallen.
A review from a girl after listening to this song:
As believers, we have unsaved friends, family and neighbors we need to be telling about the indescribable love God has for us, through His Son, Jesus Christ. As saints, we have the responsibility to lead them to Jesus. Wake up, church! This is an emergency! Your friends are headed to hell if you don't intervene! Life is a period of grace - it's a time to come to know Jesus and tell as many people as possible just how much He loves them.
Tears of the Saints
There are many prodigal sons
On our city streets they run
Searching for shelter
There are homes broken down
People’s hopes have fallen to the ground
From failures
This is an emergency!
There are tears from the saints
For the lost and unsaved
We’re crying for them come back home
We’re crying for them come back home
And all your children will stretch out their hands
And pick up the crippled man
Father, we will lead them home
Father, we will lead them home
There are schools full of hatred
Even churches have forsaken
Love and mercy
May we see this generation
In its state of desperation
For Your glory
This is an emergency!
There are tears from the saints
For the lost and unsaved
We’re crying for them come back home
We’re crying for them come back home
And all your children will stretch out their hands
And pick up the crippled man
Father, we will lead them home
Father, we will lead them home
Sinner, reach out your hands!
Children, in Christ you stand!
Sinner, reach out your hands!
Children, in Christ you stand!
There are tears from the saints
For the lost and unsaved
We’re crying for them come back home
We’re crying for them come back home
And all Your children will stretch out their hands
And pick up the crippled man
Father, we will lead them home
Father, we will lead them home

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.
There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.
When will I be still and wait in silence, for You to come and sit awhile with me? Is it only when I have troubles and I cant take it anymore by myself?
Ya, I think many a times, perhaps I only scream out loud to You when I felt that I cant take it anymore. But I fail to realise that all the moments of our life, God yearns to come close to us, to sit near to us for a while, just to whisper and speak to us as we be still and wait for Him in silence and patience. At those moments with Him, He wants to raise us up above our struggles all along, challenges ahead of us (the 'mountains' we have to climb and the 'stormy seas' we have to overcome).
I am strong only when I am weak. Only when I am taking Your yoke upon me. Only when I know You are supporting me on Your shoulders God. Thank You.
running the race together,
Carrie
*thanks Jasmine for the picture as well! It has well illustrated the verses too! Its like wearing the armor of God. As I think about it, ya we often want to chiong to correct or do alot of things around us, but fail to first and forthmore, off the tap of evilness within us, to allow God to cleanse our hearts with the WOG before we want to impact others. So I pray that we will desire to allow God to come and take control and mold us! Draw us closer to You Lord.

The Armor of God
10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. 19Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
Then, I saw this picture and I thought it's interesting. The picture summarizes verse 13-20.
We always have struggles between the flesh and the spirit, between good and evil, between hope and despair, between faith and unbelief, and between carnality and spirituality. God has called us to fight the good fight, to stand fast in the faith, to be strong in the Lord in the midst of the battle, in the midst of this dark and evil world. You can choose to ignore this call and you will be the casualty. There is no way we can sit on the fence. We will need to choose one side and align ourselves with the forces of God, the forces of good. At many times, we must get ready and put on our armor and stand our ground. If not, we will be defeated and trampled into the dust of the battlefield.
The analogy by Ray Stedman is interesting. This is what he said:
I once heard of a mental hospital that had devised an unusual test to determine when patients were ready to go back into the world. They brought candidates for release into a room where a tap was turned on, sending water pouring out over the floor. Next they handed the patient a mop and told him to mop up the water. If the patient had a firm enough grasp of reality to turn off the tap before mopping up the water, he was ready to go out into society. But if he started mopping up the water without turning off the tap, they knew that more treatment was needed.
While you and I would never miss such an obvious step as shutting off the tap before mopping the floor, the fact is that many Christians live their lives in a way that is from a spiritual point of view equally absurd. Each of us as Christians have been given the mop of God's truth and we have been told to use it to help mop up the evil in the world around us. But we can only be useful in mopping up the evil around us if we first have enough sense to shut off the flow of evil that pours into our own hearts from the world rulers of this present darkness...
It is a battle in which we are all engaged every moment of our lives because "the world," the outer arena of battle, is always around us while "the flesh," the inner arena of battle, is always within us. We cannot escape "the world," nor can we run away from "the flesh." We must always begin our battle right at the point where we are.
Love,
Tangerine Tan

From the Inside Out
A thousand times I've failed
Still your mercy remains
And should I stumble again
Still I'm caught in your grace
Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame
my heart and my soul, Lord I give you control
Consume me from the inside out Lord
Let justice and praise become my embrace
To love You from the inside out
Your will above all else, my purpose remains
The art of losing myself in bringing you praise
Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame
In my heart, in my soul, Lord I give you control
Consume me from the inside out Lord
Let justice and praise become my embrace
To love You from the inside out
Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame
And the cry of my heart is to bring You praise
From the inside out Lord, my soul cries out
I think something amazing that God really touches me is that:
He does not want me to live a day without Him!
He wants me to live life day to day with Him,
to handle challenges and struggles with Him,
to share my joy and sorrows with Him.
If I start to live independently of Him and His Word, I become more vulnerable to deception
and the lies of this world from the devil in every area of my life.
[Psalm5:3] 'In the morning, O Lord, You hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests
before You and wait in expectation.'
The TRUTH is:
Apart from 'abiding in Him', which is living in constant, conscious union with and dependance
on Him, I cannot do anything of spiritual or eternal value.
I pray that it will be a prayer and realisation for all of us as well, that we need to live
closely with Him and that He yearns for us to live life every moment with Him!
running the race together,
Carrie
