And we start talking...
Faceoff! (Lies we believe in series)
Posted on Tuesday, January 27, 2009
As we walk with God in life, are we believing in some 'truth' which probably are lies in disguise that the devil has placed in our hearts?
As I was thinking about the areas of pruning that God prob wants to work on in our lives this year, are we brave enough to face them?
To allow God to tell us straight in the face that, 'Child, actually in your mind, you are believing in this which is not from Me.' ?
To allow Him to tell us that, 'Child, you can actually do this, don't be fooled by the devil that you can't!'
<2cor11:1-15> It's a fantastic chapter that talks about this area. The art of deception. ~
In (v3), 'But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.'
(v14), 'And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.'
SA Tan is a master of disguise as well. We have definitely fallen into some of his tricks and art, for even many years or even before we come to know God. If we are willing to check ourselves and examine, we perhaps will realise that many of the lies that we have been believing in, have fatal consequences in how we see God, trust God, be victorious in life with God, in able to live a holy and righteous life as He has intended etc.
Personally, sth I realised I believed in subconsciously is, I can never be successful or have breakthrough in certain areas of my life. Hmm.. In perhaps my relationship with my family. I feel that there's this barrier always, I dunno when or how can there be a breakthrough. I prayed but somehow I think I believed that at the end of the day, things wont be better. There must be a great miracle if I want things to be better.
In.. thinking that some things perhaps can never be made right again? eh.. this is a very difficult area for me to express out. haiz..
<2cor10:5> 'We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.'
For ppl who think alot, think along with me ba! God commands us to take captive of every thought and make it obedient to Christ. If we dun even know what are the things that are deceiving and fooling us, how can we then make it obedient to Christ?
To be continued. Pls comment ya?! xD Carrie
