things you need to prepare!(pen them down and bring it for CG)
1) A HEART that is ready for God
(pray for your heart in the week, God prepare my heart to hear from you!)
2) your 2008 reflections
here are some helping questions, you can use to get you started for the reflections! you need not do all, just choose the ones appropriate and you can add to the list of questions as well.
-what is the most decision you have made last year? how did it affected your life?
-what is one lesson you have learnt through a bad experience last year?
-what is the most memorable experience, why?
-if you were to live 2008 again, what is one thing you will do differently?
-what is one good/bad habit you have cultivated last year? how do you want to improve/get rid of it this year?
-what is one aspect of God's character you have understood more last year?
3) vision for yourself and for the caregroup in 2009
to help you get started!
definition of vision-''the ability to imagine how a country, society, industry, etc. could develop in the future and to plan in a suitable way'' (cambridge dictionaries online)
examples:
personal vision-i want to be more hardworking, giving more attention to my studies. i want to take care of my health by eating balancely and exercising, i want to be a better child at home by taking effort to honour my parents and to take care of my siblings, i want to gain understanding of the world i am living...
caregroup vision-i want to build a more caring cg, i want to build a more word-centred cg, i want to build a more prayerful cg...
NOTE: your visions may be related to what you have penned down for your ASK.
4) prepare your ASK
according to jasmine's post earlier on... we understand that-
A refers to ATTITUDE (grumble less, be positive, encourage, give more, more tolerant..)
S refers to SKILLS (play the guitar, coordinating/organising, teaching,driving,cooking..)
K refers to KNOWLEDGE (current affairs, technology,defends of your faith/apologetics,imaging,photography..)
you need not come out with a unreasonable amount of areas that you want to work on. can pen them all down and then be realistic in the ones you will want to work on this year. :)
Let's encourage each other in doing this reflection/vision/ASK with the right attitude! Having set a reasonable direction for our life this year, let's also spur each other on in growing in the areas we have planned. We want to be moving ahead with God this year, not standstill or regress. amen?
